Looking forward to trip to london next month.
Myself and my wife are attending the evening performance in the Albert Hall.
Also the two standard bearers from Mousehole will be there as well.Jessica will be carrying the Branch standard and Diane her mum will be carrying the SW region standard for the Womens section.
Diane and Jess will be at our service on the Sunday as they are travelling back overnight.

first Branch meeting on sunday. We have a full agenda to get through.
We should finalise the running order for the village service on the 14 nov.
the club sec has sent me about 15 emails since i became chairman its nice to see he is on the ball.
County had their poppy launch on thursday at the eden project.I cannot see why we do not have it in one of the bigger towns in the county ,so that the public can see what is happening and get involved.
That might be a point to bring up at County Conferance in January.

A good Branch meeting today.I have been asked to attend both County and National conference.
We now have a basic idea of how to take the Branch forward.

looks like good news.I have received comfirmation that the new memorial boards are finished and being dispatched.
It has been alot of hard work to sort out.So now have to get the club to get them put up before weekend, that should be fun the way club are at the moment.

The Memorial Boards are now up and they look fantastic.
I would like to thank Brighton signwriters for the good job that they have done.
Now i will wait for the comments from the members of the club and branch.
We had one comment when i took the boards over to club which was not very nice.A certain club member said whats the point nobody cares about the names. I told him that i had at least 2 members of my family on the boards and that he should be ashamed as we have only recently lost a young lad from the village and his name is on there.
some people just don`t think .

    Mousehole Branch meeting today.
We had a very good meeting.
I have been wondering if mememberships is falling Nationally why is`nt HQ putting adverts on TV and in the papers .
I`m sure people still donot realise what the legion does and they only think we are there only at remembrance time and for selling poppies.

Well i have just sent an email to the editor of the legion magazine.
State in that HQ has to start promoting TRBL to the general public on what we do all year long and not just Poppy appeal.
We are loseing out to the likes of HFH and other orgainsations .
Have recieved a letter fron National Chairman,as should have all the Branch Chairs it makes for a very good read.
My Branch sec has sent me at least 6 emails today.
At our last meeting a decision was made to write a letter to National Chair and our County chair about DD`s the committee passed the letter and i was asked to sign it.
Our next meeting is booked for the 20th which will be an open meeting as we want to discuss the events planned for this year.

We have a General Branch Meeting scheduled for the 20th of this month.
We are trying to organise volunteers for our 80th and TRBL 90th anniversarys.
The Branch president might turn up to this meeting as we are also trying to get a head start on Rememberence service which is up Paul village this year.
So there could be alot of people there or not,we will have to see.
Have no reply from the chair of club on are request for a quarterly meeting of both branch and club chairs and sec`s, so we can report what each other are planning so there is no dispute.

  14. jon ponder said:

Well we had an open Branch meeting this morning.
There was not alot of people there, all of branch committee was there and reps from womens section. No one from Club committee bothered to turn up which shows the apathy of club members they seem not to be interested with the things branch are trying to do.
The Branch president attended and he meet and spoke to everyone who was there.
I will not give up trying to work with Club, but my role as chair of branch is to make sure we keep up the role of TRBL.
I have penned a letter to the legion magazine asking why HQ is not advertising what we as a legion does to the general public. It might get published it more than likely will not,but we can only try.

This week on BBc Radio Cornwall it seems that the legion is cold calling past donators and asking if they want to join the poppy lottery. This caused a few people to ring in and complain.
When they said they would be interested they were asked to hand over their bank details,in this age of scams, surely the Legion with it`s so called professional would have thought of this.
I have had a couple of complaints myself.
So i have informed County and have emailed the so called projects manager at HQ but have not had a reply.
