I think we can all agree that it’s been an eventful Poppy Appeal this year! We’ve had Boris, buses, bikes, bands, bonds and that’s just the B’s! We’ve seen great support for the Legion both offline and online, most notably, this year’s brand new online campaign, Shoulder to Shoulder.

Shoulder to Shoulder has given anybody who wishes, the opportunity to upload their picture in support of the Legion. Once uploaded, you are asked to place a poppy somewhere on the image before your photo joins thousands of others, shoulder to shoulder, supporting the Legion.

We’ve had celebs such as The Saturdays, Barbara Windsor, Helen Mirren and Andy Murray all uploading their photos to help raise the profile of Shoulder to Shoulder and the Poppy Appeal. It’s been a great success, with nearly 20,000 people on the wall to date!

With the increasing popularity of social media it has been important for the Legion to find new ways to promote the Poppy Appeal online and we really can’t thank you enough for making Shoulder to Shoulder such a success this year. It’s been wonderful seeing all your lovely messages (and faces!) of support for the Armed Forces who sacrifice so much, thank you!
