BASE Jumping in South Africa

Jump4Heroes team

Brace yourselves - Jump 4 Heroes, The Royal British Legion’s Parachute Display Team, is taking on a number of daring BASE jumps at various locations in South Africa. It’s a good job that Cpl Alan Westley, Cpl Deane ‘Smudge’ Smith, Major Alastair Macartney, Cpl Stuart Storey and LCpl Sean Sutcliffe (pictured above) have a head for heights because on their To Do list is the highest Bungy Bridge in the world, the famous Cooling Stacks of Soweto, a new football stadium built for next year’s World Cup, the Drakensburg Mountains - South Africa’s highest mountain range -  and the world famous Table Mountain in Cape Town. Phew!

Drakensberg Mountains

All of this head-spinning activity is in aid of raising awareness of the Legion’s work; stay tuned to find out how they get on!
